19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former trainer his previous coach.
Presently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks his maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from March of that year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring reactions on court had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour title, took control to push for a third set.
Moutet saved 4 initial break points in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he secured victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
