Donald Trump's Framework of Retribution and Reward

Trump's voracious urge for payback has swiftly morphed into a methodical apparatus. Over the past year, the leader's fury and caprices have assumed the form of official policies similar to analogous to historical repressive systems. Federal personnel who fail to comply are promptly fired and replaced by supporters. Political leaders who confront him risk indictment, judicial process and punishment. Critics have been categorized under administration directives as “unpatriotic”, “opposed to religious values” and “opposing economic freedom”, and menaced with prosecution as “security threats”.

Government Institutions Restructured

Every case involving prosecution of critics and protection for his allies displays its own particular characteristics. However, regardless of their specific nature, they embody expressions of what has arisen as a systematic method. Those incidents are anything but random. Trump's removal of DoJ attorneys and FBI agents, alongside his appointment of devotees in high-level posts, commenced rapidly, soon took on a pattern, and has now been formed into a structure. The justice department and the Federal Bureau have been transformed into partisan organizations under Trump's explicit direction to implement his demands. Wrongdoing has been turned into standard. It represents the retribution system.

Leadership is more concerned with penalizing the chief's perceived adversaries than they are with protecting our country's safety.

Inside the Structure

The origin of this mechanism has been revealed in the lawsuit of multiple previous top FBI executives lodged in September in the US district court in the capital against agency head an administration figure and justice department head Pam Bondi for wrongful dismissal in “a campaign of retribution against the officials for what administration figures deemed to be a inability to demonstrate sufficient political loyalty”. According to the filing that one official, the former temporary head, describes a discussion in which the director “openly confessed the illegality of his actions”.

The official had attempted to protect agency personnel from being fired, the complaint claims. He told him that “they” – interpreted by Driscoll to be the executive branch and justice department – had directed him to dismiss everyone who they considered as having participated in a criminal investigation against the president. The complaint adds: “The director clarified that he had to terminate the people his superiors told him to dismiss, because his chance to keep his own position relied on the dismissal of the personnel who were involved in cases involving the chief executive. Patel explained that there was nothing he or the official could do to stop these or any other terminations, because ‘the agency attempted to place the chief in prison and he hasn't forgotten it.’” Once he advised the director he was disregarding the bureau's own regulations, the director reportedly said “he recognized that and he knew the nature of the immediate dismissals were probably illegal”.

Widespread Consequences

After the director's claimed confession to the official, the DoJ and the law enforcement agency have been gutted and reorganized for his retribution system. Several of the agency's senior executives were fired or forced out in the first days of the presidency. Approximately thousands of legal professionals at DoJ have accepted a “early exit scheme”. At least several federal prosecutors, including those in the New York office, quit in protest over what they viewed as ideological pressure in dropping the corruption case against the city leader, the mayor, in exchange for his assistance with the administration's ICE detentions of foreign nationals. The public integrity section of the justice department, which handles ethical violations, has been cut down to two attorneys. The rights protection unit has been severely reduced: 70% of its employees has left. A third of top officials at DoJ have quit. The division upholding ecological regulations has seen departures of a majority its management.

Rewards and Penalties

Regarding the mayor's situation, the acting US attorney for the southern district of New York, the official, resigned in protest against what she described as the “exchange”. Tom Homan, the president's “immigration leader,” was present as the implementer with Adams on Fox News to announce: “Unless he complies, I'll reappear in New York City.”. And, a former official, previously the justice department figure and a past legal representative, who arranged the arrangement, was awarded an appellate federal judgeship, a likely springboard to the supreme court.

The president's immunity for crimes perpetrated while in office, awarded by the unprecedented ruling of the GOP-led on the highest court, thus preventing his legal action over the political violence and preserving his electoral prospects for the presidential race, is the cornerstone on which he depends to defend his supporters. Under these circumstances, he has been liberated to enable misconduct. The effect of the court judgment permeates his government and the political party thoroughly. Trump v United States has metastasized. As a past leader's White House counsel John Dean remarked about the Watergate
